After we finished the family photographs at the church, we headed to The Chamberlin to do some portraits of the couple and bridal party:

Erin decided to do her bridal portrait session at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk.  It allowed us to do part of the session indoors, and also take advantage of the nice garden area outside.  We had really great weather for the shoot, including beautiful natural light shining through the front windows (for the shots in the Chrysler’s foyer), as well as warm, golden light when we went outside.  You can also view their wedding photos here:  Erin and Matt’s wedding at The Chamberlin

Julie and Will were married at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, and held their reception at the Colonial Heritage Golf Club.  Todd from Black Iris Floral Events provided beautiful bouquets for the ladies, as well as all the reception flowers – simply stunning!   Jeremy Kilgore of Blue Steel Lighting made the ballroom look amazing, with different color schemes that changed at various points during the night.  Lighting design can definitely take your reception to the next level!

Ryan and Ashley-anne are getting married at The Yacht Club at Marina Shores later in 2012!  We shot their engagement photos late last year so they could use them for save the date cards and an announcement in the paper.  They opted for the ‘extended’ session, so we could get some shots at the beach as well as the Norfolk Botanical Garden.  We had a great time at both shoots, and here are some highlights we came away with:

We had nearly perfect weather for Jennifer’s bridal portraits at Maymont in Richmond.  Stormy skies threatened the shoot towards the end, but the weather held out and here’s a sample of the shots we came away from the shoot with:

Zach and Jenn were married at the historic St. Johns church in Richmond, followed by a great reception for 200 of their closest friends and family at the Science Museum.   I had the pleasure of working with some great vendors, including Colleen of CCS Events.  Here’s a small sampling of what happened throughout the day:

After the ceremony, we stopped at various locations in Richmond for some fun portraits!

This was their version of ‘American Gothic’!

The girls were feeling pretty sassy during the portraits.

(I told them it wasn’t a good idea to jump 5 feet down onto cement in dress shoes!  Did they listen?)

Luckily, no serious injuries occurred!

Zach & Jenn are both VCU grads, and Zach was a star on the hockey team.

Jenn was playing for keeps when she smashed him in the face with the cake!  No one expected it (but I was ready for it)!

Zach, being such a nice guy, decided to tend the bar for his friends while the real bartender was getting more ‘supplies’.  No one went without a drink all night!
